Rushing Wind Fellowship
We are a “biker friendly” congregation that welcomes all people.
We organized the congregation in 2008 desiring to establish a simple fellowship of believers working together as a movement of God within the community. The congregation was birthed out of a biker ministry, Faith On Wheels, founded by Bro. Mike Swearingen that later became a chapter of Bikers For Christ and Rushing Wind Fellowship. As our roots were part of the Simple Church Movement, we are made up of folks from many different backgrounds who come together seeking only to have a closer relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. We seek to be a movement of God within the community through evangelism, outreach, and glorifying God through praise and worship.
We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides the only true and everlasting means of offering hope, peace, and finding the genuine purpose for living.
We really are a “come as you are” group praying that all who worship with us leave different than they came. Rushing Wind Fellowship is a place where you are not judged by your appearance or your past. We are all sinners that are blessed through the grace of a loving God. All are welcome whether they ride a Harley, Suzuki, Honda, drive a car or truck.
Many wear jeans and tee’s as the norm because we focus more on glorifying the Lord than ourselves.
We are non-denominational, affiliated with The Missionary Church International and Rushing Wind Biker Ministries, allowing us to independently connected with other like fellowships and believers.
Rushing Wind is truly a fellowship, sharing in the lives of the people. We have fellowship lunches often after the worship service and invite folks from the street and homeless community to join in with us in both worship and fellowship.
During the week the food pantry is open to provide food for those in need. We also serve as a hydration station during the summer months and as a warming center during the winter.
We realize that not everyone is comfortable with the casual, non-traditional style of worship and the closeness of fellowship that is experienced at Rushing Wind, however, we do invite you to come and spend some time with us.We do not have membership as such at Rushing Wind as we feel that a piece of paper should not hold one to a congregation but feel that one connects with us because of like mind and heart.
